Article: ​I am Struggling to Get Better Each Day


Motivation is the driving force behind human actions, that lets you focus on accomplishing your goals. It helps in understanding your “why”. The driving force can either be extrinsic meaning they are external or intrinsic meaning they are from within (Arora, 2018). Lack of motivation is therefore as a result of lack of the driving force which can be caused by various factors such as lack of clarity of what you want, depression, feeling overwhelmed among other reasons. Lack of motivation leads to procrastination of tasks that are supposed to get done eventually giving up in the project

Some of the ways that can be employed in order to be motivated include setting small and manageable goals. If the thought of doing any task is overwhelming, start with smaller manageable tasks. As you meet the smaller tasks, you can progress to bigger tasks until you ultimately accomplish all the tasks. The key is building momentum and making it easy to start, after which you gradually increase the momentum and get on to a higher level. 

Another way is by congratulating yourself for every goal or task achieved no matter how small. This will help in improving your confidence and sense of motivation. While congratulating yourself, you can take breaks when needed. remember success is not a destination but a journey that you need to go through for a long time. Taking a break normally reenergizes you and you become more motivated and ready to achieve your goals

Avoiding negativity is another way of increasing motivation. The brain usually digests whatever thoughts that are created. So, when you feed your brain with positive thoughts you will be motivated in accomplishing your objectives. By affirming that you feel incredibly motivated regularly translates into reality.

In conclusion, motivation helps you to overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve your goals, without which you may end up giving up on challenges that come your way or just stagnating in your progress, unhappy and doing nothing. Always dream big but start small
